This conference offers a critical examination of the strategies of trans movements, asking whether gains in visibility and recognition have truly improved the living conditions and safety of these communities. It approaches these struggles from the perspective of material realities—housing, health, work, and violence—to better understand inequalities and internal tensions. Drawing on materialist approaches and the movement’s current experiences, the discussion explores paths forward, emphasizing mutual aid, solidarity, and forms of collective power that go beyond institutional recognition.
