This guide was designed to respond to requests from lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT or queer) parents for advice on how best to address their sexual orientation or gender identity with their children. Most of these people are faced with the same dilemma: viewing honesty as a fundamental family value and wanting the best for their children while fearing the worst from an often prejudiced society. This guide is a short summary of the available documentation on this subject.
