Trans 101 training course
The Trans 101 training is generally designed for all staff members within an organization, including employers, HR professionals, and frontline employees who interact directly with the public.
This training combines short lectures with interactive components and includes:
- A brief introduction of our organization and services;
- An overview of key concepts;
- A discussion about common myths and facts about trans identities;
- Practical strategies for creating trans-inclusive environments tailored to your organization’s needs.
What’s included:
- A 30-minute online meeting with the project lead to assess your needs;
- On-site or virtual facilitation of the Trans 101 training;
- A ready-to-use resource toolkit (participant handout and reference guide);
- One hour of post-training consultation with the project lead to support the implementation of new practices (to be scheduled within three months following the training).
Adaptable content to fit your context
Our Trans 101 training is fully customizable and can be adapted to a wide range of environments to reflect the unique realities of each organization. Here are a few examples of how we've adapted the training for specific sectors:
-
Shelters and housing services
This version of Trans 101 is designed to raise awareness among staff working in shelters and housing environments about the experiences of trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals living in precarious situations. It can also support organizations taking their first steps toward becoming more inclusive spaces. -
Healthcare
Tailored for medical and clinical environments, this version highlights the specific needs of gender-diverse individuals in healthcare and offers practical tools to help professionals provide more inclusive and affirming care. For example, the clinic Chirurgie Dix30 participated in this training as part of its inclusion efforts for transmasculine and non-binary people undergoing hysterectomy. -
Workplace
This version of the Trans 101 training focuses on inclusive hiring practices and strategies to better support gender-diverse employees in the workplace — while also recognizing and valuing their strengths and contributions.
Trans 101 workshops
Our Trans 101 workshops offer the same benefits as our training, but in a more flexible, interactive format. These sessions are typically designed for the service users or clients of organizations.
